A report today by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/us-news\/law\/justice-department-resumes-foreign-bribery-work-but-cuts-cases-after-trumps-pause-1b00b14d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a> noted that nearly half of the DOJ\u2019s FCPA investigations have been closed. Public Citizen\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citizen.org\/article\/corporate-enforcement-trump-tracker\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Corporate Enforcement Tracker<\/a> shows that five FCPA investigations and lawsuits against corporations have already been dismissed or withdrawn, and 16 are at risk, including investigations into Pfizer and Toyota, both of which donated $1 million to President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration. <strong>Rick Claypool, a research director for Public Citizen<\/strong>, released the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerican corporations that engage in criminal bribery schemes abroad will no longer be prosecuted. That\u2019s the bottom line of the new Trump policy on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
