{"id":2922,"date":"2025-06-11T04:03:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T03:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vr-news.net\/2025\/06\/nearly-11-million-americans-will-lose-healthcare-to-pay-for-trumps-billionaire-tax-cuts\/"},"modified":"2025-06-11T04:03:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T03:03:17","slug":"nearly-11-million-americans-will-lose-healthcare-to-pay-for-trumps-billionaire-tax-cuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vr-news.net\/?p=2922","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 11 Million Americans Will Lose Healthcare to Pay for Trump\u2019s Billionaire Tax Cuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbo.gov\/publication\/61461\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> that congressional Republicans\u2019 budget betrayal would strip <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterSullivan4\/status\/1930266390298026128\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">nearly 11 million Americans<\/a> of their healthcare coverage while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-06-04\/cbo-says-republican-tax-bill-adds-2-4-trillion-to-us-deficits?srnd=phx-economics-v2&amp;sref=F7j0rXiB\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">adding<\/a> $2.4 trillion to the national deficit. <\/p>\n<p>Between discontinuing Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage for coverage for small businesses owners, family caregivers, and millions of Americans, and <a href=\"https:\/\/subscriber.politicopro.com\/article\/2025\/06\/house-gop-gets-megabills-official-price-tag-2-4t-00384596\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">kicking<\/a> 7.8 million Americans off of Medicaid, the Republican tax scam will make basic necessities like food and healthcare more expensive for most Americans in order to pay for tax cuts for <a href=\"https:\/\/cashincongress.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">themselves<\/a>, their wealthy donors, and giant corporations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite Trump and congressional Republicans&#8217; attempts to distort the truth, their \u2018big, beautiful betrayal\u2019 will add trillions to the debt while making healthcare more expensive and difficult to access for millions of children, seniors in nursing homes, and their communities, all to pay for tax giveaways to their billionaire donors. If the Senate Republicans that have been vocal in their opposition to cuts to Medicaid and other critical programs are true to their word, they will vote against this bill \u2013 anything else would be a betrayal of their promise to their constituents.\u201d \u2014Accountable.US Executive Director Tony Carrk<\/p>\n<p>In April, a dozen congressional Republicans vowed to preserve Medicaid, <a href=\"https:\/\/bresnahan.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/icymi-bresnahan-sends-letter-house-leadership-affirming-commitment-medicaid\" target=\"_blank\">saying<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe cannot and will not support a final reconciliation bill that includes any reduction in Medicaid coverage for vulnerable populations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They voted for the bill and its cuts to Medicaid anyways.
